Roger Jeff’s Drawing & Painting Classes

PAINTING AND DRAWING

Roger Jeffs has been teaching painting and drawing classes in the Project Space since 2009.

The course is suitable for beginners and for those with some experience. An introductory programme ensures a good solid grounding in the basic elements of painting and drawing from observation:  understanding and manipulating colour; becoming competent in the use of line, shape, tone and texture and learning how to make a good composition. Students are encouraged to gain experience and skills in a wide range of media and techniques.

For the more advanced/experienced student the class may have a "workshop" ethos, dealing with individual problems, concerns and ideas. The atmosphere in the class is serious, professional and challenging but encouraging and often fun!  And there is always generous support and enthusiasm from fellow students.

There are frequent discussions about painting and drawing where in an informal way we can explore the wider context of art history and contemporary fine art practice.

The course takes place in the Project Space at Parndon Mill on Wednesdays. Starting in September there are a series of five week terms. It is possible to attend either mornings, afternoons or all day.

Wednesday:

Morning 10.00 am - 1.00 pm

Afternoon  1.30 pm - 4.30 pm.

Fees per five week term: (payable in advance)

Half day - £150

All day - £260
