Havva Yoga

Specialised yoga classes suitable for all levels led by Havva Goldring

Havva is back teaching from Thursday 26th October 2017 having spent some time away travelling and deepening her Yoga journey both on and off the mat. During her time away, Havva has been fortunate enough to continue assisting and learning from her own advanced teacher and mentor, John Scott in India and the heart of the Himalayas, which included meditation with Buddhist monks in a Monastery. Although Havva is already very experienced and qualified in her Yoga teaching career, she is furthering her knowledge still by undertaking a Yoga therapy diploma so that she can use Yoga to help students suffering with mental and physical conditions.

Havva is a 500-hour registered Yoga teacher and also qualified in teaching Pregnancy Yoga and Meditation.

For more information or to start your own Yoga journey, please contact Havva on the details below.

Flow Yoga
Suitable for all levels

A guided asana (posture) practice focusing on using Pranayama (breath) and movement through each asana to align and focus the mind, body and spirit. These classes are designed to provide the right balance of relaxation and asana to help build strength and flexibility in the body, whilst focusing on the mind and tuning into the spirit to bring the senses into the present moment, into the self to provide focus and strength within to help us become stronger in our daily lives.

Ashtanga Yoga Led/Counted
Suitable for all levels

A challenging set sequence of postures as developed by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga is a more dynamic practice linking each breath to movement, using energy locks (bandhas) within the body to float from each asana. The practice is designed to build heat within the body using Ujjayi breath to cleanse and detoxify the body both internally and externally. Ashtanga Yoga tunes into our inner senses, stilling the mind to bring about inner peace and at the same time providing a strong foundation and focus to our surroundings. Students are counted through the Ashtanga Primary Series in Sanskrit.

Beginners Yoga
Suitable for beginners in Yoga

Aimed at beginners in Yoga, classes are designed at a slower pace than a Vinyasa flow class and focuses on students learning how to safely enter and exit postures, alignment throughout poses and learning pranayama techniques as well as meditation and relaxation. Classes are designed to build confidence in your Yoga practice and to build strength and a more open mind, body and spirit.

CLASSES AT PARNDON MILL are suspended whilst Havva explores the Amazon rain forest!

MONDAY 6.30 - 7.45 PM FLOW YOGA

FRIDAY 7 – 8.15 PM MEDITATION/RELAXATION (Once a month – see havvayoga website/social media for dates)

Monthly Meditation and Guided Relaxation Classes
Suitable for all levels.

A guided Meditation and Relaxation class suitable for anyone interested in relaxing, de-stressing and connecting with their inner self. Meditation enables you to become more grounded and conscious in the present moment as well as providing the necessary tools to help with sleep and general well being. Classes are designed to quieten the mind providing powerful tools to help reduce any stress, anxiety or tension that builds within the body during our every day lives. As we begin to expand our consciousness we connect to our internal senses to become more stress free, focused, open minded, and aware which enables us to make better life choices and to live a calmer, quieter, worry free life. As we allow our bodies to settle into stillness our immune system strengthens, mental clarity is obtained and our mood improves.

Roger Jeffs life drawing classRoger Jeffs drawing and painting class

Roger Jeffs

Drawing, painting and life classes

Tuesday evening life drawing sessions in the Project Space are suitable for beginners, the more experienced or advanced. Anyone familiar with Roger's painting and drawing classes from Parndon Mill, Harlow, Great Hallingbury or Bishop's Stortford College will know something of the unique atmosphere generated in these groups.
There is a range of excellent models, sensitive but challenging teaching, thoughtful and creative group ethos.
The studio is fully equipped and A1/A2 paper is available for purchase.

TUESDAY  6.30 pm - 9.30 pm
Fees: Three terms, 10 sessions per term, £195.00 per ten sessions.

Roger Jeffs has been teaching painting and drawing classes in the Project Space since 2009.
The course is suitable for beginners and for those with some experience. An introductory programme ensures a good solid grounding in the basic elements of painting and drawing from observation - seeing, understanding and manipulating colour; use of line, shape, tone and texture and the importance of good composition. Students are encouraged to gain experience and skills in a wide range of media and techniques.
For the more advanced/experienced student the class may have a "workshop" ethos, dealing with individual problems, concerns and ideas. The atmosphere in the class is serious, professional and challenging but encouraging and often fun! And there is always generous support and enthusiasm from fellow students.
There are regular talks about painting and drawing which also explore the wider context of art history and contemporary fine art practice.
The course takes place in the Project Space at Parndon Mill on Wednesdays. Starting in September there are three ten week terms. It is possible to attend either mornings, afternoons or all day.

WEDNESDAY  9.45 am - 12.45pm
                          1.30 pm - 4.30 pm.
Fees: (10 weeks term) Half day - £195.  Full day - £300
