Ivan Daggett Fine Art

Ivan is a fine artist and a lecturer in further education. His work has for some years been concerned with carving stone but more recent ideas have taken him back to clay figure modeling and casting in plaster. The images he works with, then and now, are intuitive responses to mythological themes, in particular the Greek stories of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Figure work and drawing currently offer a different expression to the language of natural geometric forms and the process of stone carving. He currently teaches a sculpture class in his studio and is proposing a number of new classes for September 2009.
