Art classes starting January 2010 Sculpture Duration: 10 weeks Mixed abilities sculpture class introducing and exploring traditional and modern approaches. Support will vary from individual experience and requirement. Beginners will have the opportunity to be introduced to a variety of methods to gain confidence whilst those with more experience will be able to discuss and explore more individual ideas. Monday’s class provides more of an opportunity for beginners to explore clay modelling and carving from the figure through drawing, clay relief and full 3D modelling. Thursday’s class offers those with more experience the opportunity to explore project work using the work of other contemporary and historical artists to influences ideas. You are not going to learn how to do water colours of Robins on flower pots but you will cover the following: Beginners will have an Introduction to styles in art history, 3D methods - clay for slab, coil and modelling and plaster for casting, 2D methods - drawing, painting, print making, collage and mixed media. SPONTANEOUS ART Saturday 11th September 2010 In this workshop we will explore and move beyond the fears that hold us back and create art in a spontaneous, playful and adventurous way. Exploring colour, line, text and collage and mask making, you will be free to express yourself in a contained environment. Please bring lunch to share. Refreshments are included.
