Aila Simpson BA (hons) MA

Aila's work reflects the colours and textures of the rocky environment of her homeland, Finland.

Much of her work is constructed by the slab technique building with paper clay which is glazed and fired to earthenware temperature.

Larger pieces, like outdoor fountains, are produced in a grogged body and fired to stoneware to achieve vitrification.

Aila has exhibited in solo exhibitions in Finland 1998, 1999 & 2000 and numerous group exhibitions in the home counties. Her work is always available in The Gallery at Parndon Mill and she has recently completed a commemorative commission for the EU.

Aila's studio is situated on the ground floor of the Mill and she welcomes enquiries for classes and tuition from both industry and public.

Currently running are Tuesday classes from 10 am - 12pm
10 week course £180

Monday morning sessions are also available at £20 per session
